#AllCoopedUp with Leanne Citrone, Owner of Andy Lecompte Salon

As co-owner of the Andy Lecompte Salon, Leanne has been named one of the best stylists in Los Angeles by W magazine and almost every person I know. She began her career in England and has risen to the top of her field, with clients, bloggers and celebrities alike all clamoring for her expertise on how to achieve her California-inspired, no fuss tresses—and that is just her day job. Her side hustle deserves a lot of attention. Leanne is a super talented chef and food blogger and her quarantine routine is downright aspirational. -Jenna

What’s your profession, and what does your day-to-day work experience look like now?

I’m a hairstylist and the owner of the Andy Lecompte Salon. When I’m not cutting hair, I’m running the salon. Work now consists of lots of phone meetings and checking in with clients and coworkers.

Are there objects or spaces in your house that you are newly appreciating? Or are there objects and spaces you have come to loathe?

I’ve loved being able to spend some real time at home – I’m usually always on the run and never took the time to sit and enjoy the quiet. I’ve never loved my garden more.

Describe your at-home quarantine uniform.

Workout clothes, my Elizabeth Suzann jumpsuits and Jenni Kayne cashmere

Who are you quarantining with? Do you feel the need to “get away”? How do you make it happen?

My husband Michael, my kids Luca and Willow, and our Mini Bull Terrier, Lottie. In the early days of this, I felt like I needed to “get away” and would do market runs. But lately, I’ve tried to go to the market less and have found that my “me time” is when I’m in the kitchen cooking.

What’s the last thing you purchased online? Regret or obsessed?

LED lights for Willow’s room (she’s obsessed) and a bread-scoring knife for myself. I’d wanted to try bread making forever, and now I finally have the time, and I’m really loving it.

Tell us the best shows, podcasts, or books you’re loving right now.

Unorthodox, Zero Zero Zero, lots of movies I never had time to watch, and I’ve been reading a ton of cookbooks.

Do you have any new quarantine activities or rituals?

I FaceTime my friends a lot and I’ve been doing yoga classes on Zoom before anyone else get up.

What is your favorite quarantine snack? What restaurants are you ordering takeout from?

That’s a hard one… It depends on the weather and what I happen to have on hand. We haven’t been ordering in much. Since the salon is closed and I love to cook, I’ve been making all kinds of random things. My daughter wanted a Starbucks Frappuccino the other day, so we did a homemade version instead and it’s been fun improvising those kinds of things.

What is the one item you’re glad you stocked up on? What do you wish you’d stocked up on?

I was gifted some beautiful beauty products, which I am so grateful for. I wish I’d bought more flour – I’ve been baking a lot and getting flour has been tough.

What is your creative outlet and how are you making space for it?

Cooking and baking. Needless to say, I’ve found plenty of time for it and it brings me so much joy.

Describe your biggest quarantine indulgence.

Sleeping until 8. This was unheard of in my pre-quarantine life!

If you have kids, how are you maintaining some kind of schedule for them?

Honestly, it’s been a bit of a free for all over here, especially with the kids out of school for spring break. I’m leaning into it and trying not to be too hard on myself about the lack of structure!

What are you doing for exercise?

I love Modo Yoga and Hot Pilates. My husband owns Global Fitness (a fitness exporting company) and he brought 2 mini trampolines home – they’ve been lifesavers.

Are you sharing recipes with friends?

Yes! I’ve been posting lots of things I cook and recipes on my Instagram and people have been texting and DM’ing me for tips and advice and I love it!

What’s been the biggest challenge for you throughout this?

It depends on the day. Work stuff, kids, family - all of it!

When this is over I cannot wait to ___________.

Not wear a facemask!
