#AllCoopedUp with Shani Darden, Esthetician

Shani Darden has style. Period. Considered the secret behind Hollywood’s most flawless faces, expert esthetician Shani Darden sets herself apart with her results-oriented approach to skin care. Her passion for simple, yet effective solutions has earned her clients’ trust and respect in a town where beauty, health, and wellness standards are high. The studio she opened in Beverly Hills, designed by Jake Arnold, is drop dead gorgeous. I’ve convinced myself that just looking at the photos of the space (while quarantined) is almost the same as getting a restorative facial. And if you use her products at the same time, it really is! Personally, I’m obsessed with the Weightless Moisturizer. - Jenna

What’s your profession, and what does your day-to-day work experience look like now?

I’m an esthetician in Los Angeles and I have a skin care line as well. Now my days consist of doing virtual consultations and filming for social media. My motivation for becoming an esthetician was to help people with their skin, and I still want to help everyone!

Are there objects or spaces in your house that you are newly appreciating? Or are there objects and spaces you have come to loathe?

I have a firepit in my backyard and it’s one of my favorite places to sneak outside to for a few minutes alone. It’s very peaceful and quiet up there, so I love to spend time up there when I can.

Describe your at-home quarantine uniform.

I love the matching sets from THE GREAT. They’re chic, but pulled together at the same time, which is exactly what I need right now!

Who are you quarantining with? Do you feel the need to “get away”? How do you make it happen?

I’m in quarantine with my two daughters, Phoenix and Lennon, and my husband, Tony. I love that we are having this special bonding time. However, it has been an adjustment, but it’s one that I am grateful to have.

What’s the last thing you purchased online? Regret or obsessed?

I have been ordering crazy things online, but one thing I regret buying is a mop I saw on Instagram that was supposed to be the best ever…. And it’s not.

Tell us the best shows, podcasts, or books you’re loving right now.

Unfortunately, with work, kids, and emails, I haven’t been watching TV at the moment.

Do you have any new quarantine activities or rituals?

Daily walks up and down the hill in my neighborhood, either by myself or with my family!

What is your favorite quarantine snack? What restaurants are you ordering takeout from?

Pinot Grigio is a lovely snack! I haven’t been ordering take out.

What is the one item you’re glad you stocked up on? What do you wish you’d stocked up on?

Besides having all of the Retinol Reform in the world, I wish I had stocked up more on Clorox Wipes and paper towels! My family goes through them so fast, and there are so many hands on every knob and every surface, so I’m just constantly cleaning all day long!

What is your creative outlet and how are you making space for it?

I love to vision board. It really helps me to positively visualize all of the good I want to attract and keep it front and center in my brain.

Describe your biggest quarantine indulgence.

I caved in and bought an air fryer! Crispy comfort foods are necessary right now.

If you have kids, how are you maintaining some kind of schedule for them?

My kids are still working on lessons remotely, but it’s always a challenge getting the girls to stay in one place for an extended period of time!

What are you doing for exercise?

I’ve been walking every day (with a mask!). It really helps to just get out and get some fresh air to turn your mood around and get rid of some of the nervous energy.

Are you sharing recipes with friends?

Not necessarily sharing recipes, but we are sharing pictures of the food we are making.

What’s been the biggest challenge for you throughout this?

The biggest challenge is just not knowing what’s going on in the world right now.

When this is over I cannot wait to ___________.

Hug my friends and see my clients!
